Este 11 de septiembre, al igual que el trágico 9/11 me encuentro de camino al trabajo. No quiero pasar mucho tiempo en los detalles de esa fecha, porque 12 años después me sigue afectando mucho. En el 2001, mi carrera profesional empezaba a tomar forma, recién había terminado una pasantía en Bloomberg News, y lo más curioso, me encontraba en medio de una carrera política donde mi jefe, Michael Bloomberg, se postulaba para alcalde de la ciudad de Nueva York. Fuera del ambiente financiero pocos conocían de este exitoso empresario. En este 2013 ya todos saben que Bloomberg es el alcalde que va de salida y que por tres términos nos ha gobernado en Nueva York.

En estos 12 años han pasado muchas cosas, me he reinventado varias veces, he descubierto varias destrezas que no sabía que tenía y mi familia ha crecido. En el 2001 tenía a dos hermosas florecitas en mi vida que trajeron luz a mi vida y que ahora tienen 12 y 14 años. Ahora, un gorrioncito también esta en mi vida, y dos flores más decoran mi jardín. Sigo rumbo al norte, y a medida que van pasando las estaciones voy recordando los lugares que he recorrido estos años: Italia, Francia, Bélgica, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana, México, Guatemala, Panamá.
